I love the multifaceted day and being prepared for the range of experiences. I’m thinking a lot lately about the trade off between planning and time spent dealing with decisions as they come up. A day spent just doing sounds heavenly.
I know the feeling. I think maybe one of the fallbacks of working in the outdoor industry is that I've become obesessed with making plans (usually for the sake of keeping the person(s) I am responsible for safe). That mindset can take away the unpredictability of just doing. So now I have to try and almost force myself to let go and embrace the spectrum of possibilities when I'm recreating .
